According to the shape and installation method of lamps, there are ceiling lamps, chandeliers, floor lamps, table lamps, spotlights, downlights, etc.

Ceiling lamps

It is the most common type of light fixture in home improvement. As the name implies, the top of the lamp is relatively flat, and the bottom is completely attached to the roof when installed, so it is called a ceiling lamp. Ceiling lamps have various shapes and are often used for overall lighting in living rooms and bedrooms. Ceiling lights with a diameter of 20 cm are suitable for walkways and bathrooms, while those with a diameter of 40 cm are suitable for rooms with a diameter of not less than 16 square meters. Ceiling lamps can use a variety of light sources, such as incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps, etc. At present, the mainstream on the market is LED ceiling lamps.

Chandeliers

The lamps suspended below the ceiling are divided into single-head chandeliers and multi-head chandeliers. The former is mostly used in bedrooms and dining rooms, while the latter is mostly used in living rooms. Multi-head chandeliers with complex shapes should be used in spaces with high floor heights, and the distance between the lowest point of the lamp and the floor should be more than 2.1 meters; in a duplex or jump-storey, the lowest point of the hall chandelier should not be lower than the second floor. The chandelier with the lampshade facing up is not recommended. Although the light source is hidden and not dazzling, there are too many disadvantages: it is easy to get dirty, the lamp holder will block the light, and there are often shadows directly below. The light can only be transmitted by the lampshade and reflected from the ceiling. Also it is low efficiency.

When choosing a multi-head chandelier, the number of lamp heads is generally determined according to the living room area, so that the proportion of the size of the lamp and the size of the living room is harmonious. But as the number of lamp caps increases, the price of the lamp doubles.

Therefore, ceiling fan lights are especially recommended: the shape of the fan blades is scattered, making the overall size of the lamp larger, and the fan blades with a diameter of 1.2 meters can be used in a large space of about 20 square meters; the wind speed is adjustable, and when the summer is not too hot, turning on the fan saves electricity , and more comfortable than the air conditioner; the fan can be set to reverse, such as turning on when eating hot pot, which can speed up the air flow, and people will not feel windy. It should be noted that the ceiling fan light needs to reserve two wires, which are connected to the fan and the light respectively; if only one wire is reserved, it can be controlled by a remote control circuit.

Floor lamps

Floor lamps are composed of three parts: lampshade, bracket and base. They are easy to move. They are generally arranged in the living room and rest area. Floor lamps are used in conjunction with sofas and coffee tables for local lighting and to create a corner atmosphere. The light is projected directly downward, which is suitable for activities that require mental concentration, such as reading. The light can also be turned upward and used as background lighting. Adjusting the height of the light source can change the diameter of the aperture, thereby controlling the intensity of the light and creating a hazy effect. The floor lamp next to the sofa is suitable for adjusting the height and the angle of the lampshade. Generally, the height is 1.2-1.3 meters. It can not only provide supplementary lighting for reading, but also relieve the irritation of the TV screen to the eyes when watching TV.

Table lamps

Small lamps placed on desks, dining tables and other counter-tops for reading and work. The irradiation range is small and concentrated, so it will not affect the light of the whole room. A semi-circular opaque lampshade is commonly used for work desk lamps. The semicircle is used for concentrating light, and the inner wall of the lampshade has a reflective effect, so that the light can be concentrated in the designated area. A rocker-type table lamp is recommended, and the double arm is more convenient to adjust than the single arm. It should be ensured that the inner wall of the lampshade and the light source cannot be seen when the person's line of sight is at a normal sitting position. Considering the requirements of "eye protection", the color temperature of the light should be lower than 5000K. If it is higher than this index, the "blue light hazard" will be serious; the color rendering index should be higher than 90, and if it is lower than this index, it is easy to cause visual fatigue. "Blue light hazard" refers to the blue light contained in the light spectrum that can damage the retina. However, all light (including sunlight) contains blue light in the spectrum. If blue light is completely removed, the color rendering index of light will be greatly reduced, causing visual fatigue far greater than the harm of blue light.

Spotlights

Spotlights are small lamps installed around ceilings, in walls or above furniture. It is characterized by a high concentration of light, which directly illuminates the object that needs to be emphasized, and the contrast between light and shadow is strong to highlight the key points. Spotlights have a wide range of uses: they can be used in conjunction with main lights, or in spaces without main lights, but the number should not be too large to prevent circuit overload and unsightly; it can be used between furniture partitions to express decorations on the partitions, etc. Spotlights are divided into track type, point-hung type and embedded type: the track type and point-hung type are installed on the wall and roof surface, and the embedded type is generally installed in the ceiling. Spotlights generate high heat and cannot irradiate flammable materials such as wool fabrics at close range; LEDs are powered by 12V DC and need to install a transformer, or purchase spotlights with their own transformers. Poor quality transformers will cause voltage instability and burn out LEDs. It even caused the spotlight to explode.

Downlights

Downlights are lamps embedded in the ceiling, and the thickness of the ceiling needs to be more than 15 cm. Of course, there are also external downlights. The spotlight of downlights is stronger than ceiling lamps and chandeliers, but weaker than spotlights. Often people can't tell the difference between downlights and spotlights, they are really not very different, mainly depends on the use requirements: The light of the downlights is diffuse and is mainly used for lighting, and the light angle is generally fixed downward; the light of the spotlight is highly focused, mainly used to set off the atmosphere, and the light angle can generally be adjusted at any time according to the placement of the home. (Now there are also downlights that can adjust the angle, and the difference between downlights and spotlights is getting smaller and smaller.) Lediant Lighting has many different types of downlights, browse our website now, there is always a downlights that you like.

Lights in different spaces

Just like the soft lighting of a cafe represents the feelings of petty bourgeoisie, the style and taste of a home can also be reflected through lighting. Light sources with the same parameters, where and how they are installed, and even what materials are used for the lampshade, will produce completely different lighting effects and create a completely different atmosphere. Therefore, different lights should be designed according to the needs of each space during decoration.
